Credit Suisse 5 gram gold bars are minted from 99.99% pure gold by Valcambi SA in Switzerland. Valcambi SA has manufactured minted and cast bars for Credit Suisse for the last 30 years. From 1967 until 1980, Credit Suisse owned 80% of Valcambi. In 1980, Credit Suisse gain full ownership until 2003, when Valcambi became a wholly-owned subsidiary of European Gold Refineries Holding. The two companies retained an association. Valcambi continues to produce minted and cast gold bars for Credit Suisse. These gold bars are backed in full by the Credit Suisse Bank of Switzerland.
